According to Nikhil, "We were both a little nervous about taking the class at first, but it ended up being a lot of fun. We learned some new recipes and techniques, and it was great to work together in the kitchen." Priya added, "I loved learning more about Nikhil's taste preferences and what he likes to cook. It was a great way to bond and spend quality time together."
But what made this idea such a successful plan for Nikhil and Priya? For starters, it was a new experience that they both shared together. By trying something new and stepping out of their comfort zones, they were able to discover a new ritual that they both liked and continue to enjoy today. It opened us up to trying out new things together.
Amit and Divya, from Dehradun, have been married since 2018. They share their experience of having game nights together with their friends.
Amit informs us, We were tired of doing the same old dinner and movie routine every weekend. That's why we started having game nights with our friends. It's a great way to spice up your weekends with a little healthy competition and lots of laughs.”
Divya adds, “Plus, it's a fun way to spend quality time with your partner and friends. We play all kinds of games like charades, Pictionary, and board games. And let me tell you, the competition can get pretty intense! (She chuckles), but that's what makes it so much fun. It's a chance to let loose and just enjoy each other's company. Not to mention, it's a great stress reliever.”
Amit backs her, “Absolutely. After a long week of work, there's nothing better than letting loose and having a good time with the people you love.
Vijay and Sneha, married for ten years since 2013, love attending live music performances as a way to connect and bond over their shared love of music.
Sneha shares, "Well, my husband and I went to a jazz concert recently and it was such a great way to connect and bond over our shared love of music. We had an amazing time dancing the night away and making lasting memories together." Vijay adds, “Sneha is from Bengal and I am from Kerala. We have attended concerts from each other’s regions, but this common connection was surely a different kind of experience where it was a great way to experience something new together and create unforgettable memories. Plus, there's something so magical about live music that just brings people together by making lasting memories together.”
Just ask Raj and Pooja, a Pune-based couple who have been married for five years and recently tried this activity.
Raj says, “We decided to take a romantic drive to a nearby hill station to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. Once we arrived, we found a quiet spot away from the bright lights and laid out a cosy blanket. As we looked up at the night sky, we were in awe of the beauty of the stars.”
“We spent the evening stargazing, pointing out constellations and marvelling at the vastness of the universe,” Pooja recalls further adding “We found the experience to be incredibly peaceful and romantic, and it allowed us to be fully present with each other with no distractions and connect on a deeper level And now we have made it a ritual that we do often as a couple.”
Arjun and Anjali from Gurgaon, who have been married for six years, decided to take a salsa class together to add some spice to their date nights. They share their story…
“After six years of marriage, we were looking for something new and exciting to do together. That's when we decided to take a chance on a salsa class - and we're so glad we did! Not only did we have an absolute blast learning new moves and stepping out of our comfort zones, but we also found that dancing together brought us closer than ever before. We learned to trust each other's movements, to communicate in new ways, and to let loose and have fun,” shares Anjali.
Arjun smiles and adds, “And the best part? We've continued to take dance classes together, trying out different styles and enjoying each other's company on the dance floor. It's become a regular part of our date nights, and we look forward to it every week. After getting married in 2019, they discovered that a simple picnic can do wonders for their relationship.
As Kunal puts it, "There's something about nature that brings us closer together. Away from the chaos of the city, we get to spend quality time with each other."
Swati agrees, adding, "Planning a picnic together also helps us bond. From brainstorming to selecting the perfect spot to pick the right food and drinks, we make decisions together, which helps us understand each other's likes and preferences better. Picnics are more than just a way to escape from the mundane routine. It gives us a chance to connect as a couple on a deeper level."

"We put away our phones and simply enjoy the moment," says Kunal. "It's a reminder to slow down and appreciate the simple things in life, like spending time with your loved one."
Siddharth and Neha, who have been happily married for seven years, decided to try something new and take up a painting class together. “We were amazed by how much fun we had while exploring different techniques and experimenting with colours and styles. We were able to bond over our shared interest and discovered a new way to connect with each other,” informs Siddharth.
Neha adds, “Not only did we have a blast, but also benefited from the class in so many ways! We learned new skills that we can use to create beautiful art and enhance our home decor.. Sahil and Anu Sathe from Maharashtra, who have been married for nine years, decided to take a road trip to explore new places and create lasting memories because they saw some neighbours do the same.
“We picked a destination we both wanted to visit, rented a car, and hit the open road. Road trips can be a great way to bond with your partner through shared experiences and adventures or by simply sitting together and spending time talking to each other.
